Textile waste is one of the fastest-growing parts of the U.S. waste stream, yet only a small fraction is reclaimed or recycled—making reuse more important than ever. Each stocking diverts discarded fabric from landfills, turning waste into beauty.
Less than half of the clothes donated are actually resold. Any clothes that are wet, soiled or non sellable are sent to sorters and graters or salvage dealers. Anything remainheads to landfill. Once there, the textiles contribute to the toxic by-products that landfills produce.
